Myrria popped into the lair today.  We both figured it was time to share a little bit about her and the other dragons.

Hi Myrria here. I have sent Chris out of the lair so we could have a little chat. Of course if you haven’t already figured it out I am a dragon, a female, purple dragon. I am not sure how old I am, I just know that I am not the oldest dragon among Asha’s guardians. My mother, Cielo is the oldest living one. There are others that have gone before us that you don’t need to know about here. I also have an older sister Dryas. I’ll tell you more about her later. She is also older than me. I have a very handsome, ruby-red dragon named Alorn. Stefano and Tatsu are two other dragons that you will encounter in the Palace of the Twelve Pillars. I will tell you more about them later.

Asha, name for God on my world of Ramajadin. I along with the other dragons I mentioned are known as Asha’s Guardian Dragons. Our mission is to help the humans and other beings of Ramajadin navigate their path in the ways of Asha. It is not always an easy task and dragons are just like humans in that we can be lured by evil as you can witness in the trilogy when two of the guardian dragons are lured away from Asha.

But more about those of us that remain loyal. I will share some details about our relationship with the humans, Kningrad and Mantion of Ramajadin. We are not able to communicate and guide a being unless they are open to Asha. Even then we only really speak to everyone in special circumstances. Beyond that, we have a special bond with the Kningrad for they are closest to Asha. Our home is in the Kningrad nation of Imherp, hidden by Asha deep in the Anna Mountain range. Asha has placed shields on it so it cannot be accessed unless Asha wills it.

After the Kningrad, we share a special bond with some humans. I share this bond with Joachim and Alorn tries to share with Brandan, but he is not too cooperative. As for the Mantion, we don’t talk to them. They are afraid that we will eat them. I would gladly communicate with them, but they aren’t open to me or the other dragons.

First a little news about Palace of the Twelve Pillars. I am proofing the galleys for the print version of Palace of the Twelve Pillars. Not sure when the release date is, but I signed the contract and started proofing last week. The HeadTalker campaign closed out the month with a whopping 99 supporters. A pretty good start for my first campaign.

So now on to Palace of the Three Crosses. This is the second book in the trilogy and it continues the story of Brandan and Joachim. A few new characters are introduced as their lives continue to unfold. Before I talk about these new characters and the reason I included the link to the interview is that there were a small group (that is in numbers not size) that you need to know before you start to read Palace of the Three Crosses and that is the dragons.

The Guardian Dragons of Asha which include Myrria, Alorn, Cielo and Stefano are messengers for Asha and serve to guide the people of Asha and when necessary protect them. They do not interfere with men’s choices only serve to guide them on the right path. Like people they also have free will and can chose not to follow Asha. Two dragons, Tatsu and Dryas have chosen to follow Sidramah instead of Asha. So the battle of good and evil moves beyond the realm of the people and into the supernatural realm.
