Elizabeth was a mature believer and shared her faith and wealth of knowledge with Mary. I can imagine in those three months, Mary shared her fears and anxieties over her upcoming marriage and birth of her child and Elizabeth lovingly mentored Mary, in spite of the fact that Mary’s son would be greater than her own.
Questions to Ponder:
- Would I share and celebrate another’s good news knowing that it would overshadow mine?
- Would I willingly accept God’s plans or be jealous of the plans God had for another’s life?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to be more likeElizabethso that my faith in you may never waver and the ugly head of jealousy will not appear and destroy the love you have for me. May I willingly share my faith with others even when they appear to have more than I do?
