Dear Jesus can you______? (fill in the blank with your wish).  How many of us have uttered a similar prayer? What do you do after the prayer?  If you are anything like me, I go back to my life, resume whatever I was doing. I may repeat the prayer, but do I really believe that it will be answered and do I recognize when it is answered? Or do my expectations blind me to the answer?
God always answers, but do I really believe that He does? Am I open to the possibility that the answer may not be what I expect?
The blind men believed. They put no conditions on their request. They just simply believed. I need to embrace the faith of the blind men, believe that Jesus will answer my prayer, in His time, in His way.  Maybe not what I desire, but what God desires for me.
My prayer for this Advent: Lord Jesus open my eyes and my heart to the wisdom of Your ways. Help me to banish my unbelief and see the answer to my prayers even when it is not what I expect.
