Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 5: Mommy I want a pet dragon.

Prompt: What if a child wanted a dragon pet:

I’m not sure how this would go over in most households or dragon lairs. From a dragons perspective Myrria says that being a pet is not something she aspires to.

Maybe to start this out I need to define pet: a domestic or tamed animal kept for companionship or pleasure

I think it would be safe to say that dragons are not domestic or tamed. Yes they may become your companions, be bonded to you in some way but you will never domesticate or train them. For a while they may give you the impression that they are tame, but like a wolf or any wild animal one day the wild will come out.

Now Myrria and her compatriots like to tell me that something like that could never happen between us, but then again she is not a pet so I do not expect them to bury their wild tendancies. I value the companionship and guidance they give me and to me they are more than a pet could ever be.

Now as to the child that wants a dragon as a pet:

Different forms of cheap women viagra this medicine, have added more valuable aspects in treating erection issues. Watermelon: There is research to suggest that watermelon could function almost like a buy viagra pill . I would like to say like any pet they are a big responsibility, but since they prefer not to be pets, they pretty much take care of themselves. Of course if they do befriend a dragon and wish to bring it home, you might wish to discourage that, because although they make wonderful companions your home is by no means large enough unless you live in a cave, which I don’t think most of us do.

The other thing is the food bill. The nice thing about dragons is they can find their own food, but if you have one for a pet your neighbors may not appreciate it when the livestock disappears and I’m sure your budget cannot handle the cost for the food they eat.

You would be better off advising your child to have a dragon as a friend that he can visit instead of as a pet. Your well being as well as that of the child and the dragon will be in a much better place when the dragon is your friend.

Dragons are most loyal creatures when they have chosen you and you don’t try to enslave them or treat them as a pet.

So my advice to the child who wants a dragon as a pet, tell him to find a dog or a fish, and leave the dragon to be his friend. You, the child, and the dragon will be much better off with that arrangement. Besides you will have gained a great friend who if treated right will defend you, console you, be honest with you; all the things you can expect from a real friend. And she might even take you flying, because one of the things dragons love to do is fly and explore the world, just be sure to take a jacket, because it can get rather chilly flying in the stratosphere.

Like humans, dragons have different personalities, different motivations, different moralities. Tomorrow I will explore some of the dragons I know with malevolent personalities. Unfortunately I do know a few.
